Identity and Global Citizenship

Primary School 't Venne is a Roman Catholic primary school. Within thematic units (for example around the holidays), attention is given to the Catholic faith and we visit the Catholic church in Nieuw-Vennep. We are open to other belief systems and find it important to also give them sufficient attention.

We believe it is important that children grow up to be engaged, curious, and respectful citizens. That is why we focus on global citizenship education at school: learning about yourself, others, and the world around you. We help children to be open to differences, to think critically, and to take responsibility. Our goal is to prepare children to participate independently and with respect in our current democratic constitutional state.
